Anna E. Brinkmann

Anna E. Brinkmann was born March 24, 1925 near Posey, a daughter of Walter and Clara (Brink) Hermeling. She married Alvin Brinkmann on February 26, 1949, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Carlyle, and he preceded her in death on January 21, 1952. Mrs. Brinkmann worked at Wee Walker Shoe Factory in Carlyle until it closed. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, and Lutheran Womens Missionary League. She enjoyed baking cookies, quilting, playing cards with her friends, and her family and their children. Anna E. Brinkmann died on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at the Carlyle Healthcare Center. She was 86 years of age. Mrs. Brinkmann is survived by a brother, Gustav (Doris) Hermeling of Rockford; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hermling of Okawville, Jackie Almgnes and Mary Hermeling of Tucson, Arizona, and Viola Brinkmann of Carlyle; a brother-in-law, Willard (Mary) Brinkmann of Carlyle; and nieces, nephews cousins and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Brinkmann on Jan 21, 1952; 4 brothers, Waldemar, Rudolph, Elmer and Arthur Hermeling; brothers-in-law Elmer, Walter, and Alfred Brinkmann; and sister-in-law Irene Hermeling.
