Cecilia A. Wessling

Cecilia A. Wessling was born on April 13, 1925, in Aviston, Illinois, a daughter of Bernard and Adelinda (Bach) Loepker. She married Edward Wessling on September 14, 1949, in Bartelso, Illinois and he survives in Carlyle. Mrs. Wessling was a homemaker and also owned and operated Wessling Upholstery for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Carlyle. Cecilia enjoyed all crafts, especially quilting and crocheting. She was well known for her beautiful handiwork. Cecilia A. Wessling entered into rest on Sunday, January 11, 2009, at Carlyle Healthcare Center in Carlyle, Illinois. She was 83 years of age. In addition to her husband Edward, Mrs. Wessling is also survived by 4 daughters - Linda Nolte and husband Bob of Iuka, Illinois, Gerry Voland and husband Terry of Florissant, Missouri, Mary Miller and husband David of Carlyle and Anita Wessling of St. Charles, Missouri; 2 sons - Don Wessling and wife Nancy of Dubois, Illinois and David Wessling and wife Nadine of Breese, Illinois; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; a brother - Gene Loepker and wife Ruth of Bartelso and her in-laws - Alvina Schaeffer and Florence Beer, both of Mascoutah, Illinois and Art Wessling and wife Bertha of Germantown, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents - Bernard and Adelinda Loepker; a daughter - Jackie Wessling and her in-laws - Ray Wessling and wife Loretta, Vince Wessling and wife Eleanor, John Schaeffer and Clarence Beer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at St. Mary's Church in Carlyle with Fr. George Mauck, officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday from 8:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M.
