Daniel L. Pigg Obituary (1952 - 2013)

Daniel L. Pigg, age 61 of Sandoval, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 12, 2013, surrounded by his family. Mr. Pigg was born on March 27, 1952, in Centralia, Illinois, a son of Charles Ray and JoDean (Rohner) Pigg. He was a graduate of Carlyle High School and had served in the National Guard. Daniel worked for the Illinois Department of Corrections at Centralia Correctional Facility, and also farmed and milked cows. He also owned and operated Quail Run Pointers and loved quail hunting, working his dogs, and most of all being a father and family man. Mr. Pigg is survived by his children - Wesley Pigg and wife Amy of Junction City, Illinois; Kate Hargrove of Huey and Raymond A. Pigg and wife Gina of Carlyle; his grandchildren - Emily, Shelby and Mallory Pigg; a brother - Jeff Pigg and wife Lois of Shattuc and his special friend - Bonnie Sampson. He was preceded in death by his parents - Charles Ray and JoDean Pigg, 2 sons - Benjamin and Thomas Pigg, and a brother, Phillip Pigg. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 16, 2013, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ferrin with Rev. Scott Niermann, officiating. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Sunday, December 15, 2013, from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. and on Monday morning from 8:30 - 10:00 A.M. The family suggest memorial donations in his memory be made to the charity of the donor's choice they will be received at church or at Zieren Day Funeral Home.
