David L. Cluck, Sr. Obituary (2016)

David L. Cluck, Sr., age 65 of Carlyle, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. Mr. Cluck was born on April 16, 1951, in Christopher, Illinois, a son of Marion and Ethel (Gant) Cluck. He married Deb Erlinger in Carlyle on August 14, 1986, and she survives in Carlyle. David is also survived by his children - Shawn Cluck and wife Heidi, David Cluck, Jr. and wife Carrie, John Cluck and wife Samantha, Heather Cluck, Christopher Cluck and wife Doretta, Zachary Cluck, Lucas Cluck and wife Ashley, and Samantha Cluck; 25 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, and a host of children who he "adopted" as his children. He is also survived by 2 brothers - Victor Cluck and wife Corrine and Donald Cluck and wife Betty, and his mother in law - Betty Erlinger. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cluck was preceded in death by a sister - Barb Bloomer, and his father in law - Bill Erlinger. Dave retired as a security guard, and most recently worked for Pinkerton Security. He enjoyed woodworking and was a talented mechanic. He loved to work on cars, build go-carts, and lawn mower demolition derby mowers. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 24, 2016, at Zieren Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Cluck may be made to his family and will be received at Zieren Funeral Home.
