Elsie Lee Minder Nobbe Obituary (2009)

Elsie Lee Minder Nobbe was born in Keyesport, Illinois on August 9, 1926, a daughter of Melvin and Opal (Woods) Clements. She married Archie Minder on October 14, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri and he preceded her in death on December 28, 1984. Elsie was a licensed practical nurse for many years. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Greenville and also attended the Columbus Baptist Church. She was a member of the Preacher's Wives Club, taught Sunday school classes and enjoyed sewing and being a homemaker. Elsie Lee Minder Nobbe went home to be with her Lord on Friday, April 10, 2009, at Greenville Regional Medical Center in Greenville, Illinois. Elsie was 82 years of age. She is survived by 4 daughters - Judy Edwards and husband Larry of Keyesport, Illinois, Janet Kepford and husband Charles of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Nina Manning and husband John of New Orleans, Louisiana and Nancy Chew and husband David of Richmond, Indiana; 10 grandchildren - Dallas Edwards (Gail), James Edwards, Ward Kious (friend Shelly), Angelia Kepford, Misti Kepford, Amanda Manning, Laura Sharp (Derek), Stacy Corwin (David), Aaron Chew (Leaa) and Emily Chew; 9 great grandchildren - Dillon and Ellie Edwards, Zadon Kepford, Chris, Gabriella and Donoven Sharp, Morgan Corwin and Madison and Noah Chew; a sister - Jean Douglas and husband Bobby of Collinsville, Illinois; 2 brothers - Dean Clements of Wood River, Illinois and Bob Clements and friend Linda of Gray Summit, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents - Melvin and Opal Clements; her husband - Archie Minder; her second husband - Clarence Nobbe; a granddaughter - Amanda Chew; a sister - Aleane Wood and a sister-in-law - Florence Clements. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, April 13, 2009, at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle with Pastor Conrad Stone and Pastor Ryan Loucks, officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery near Keyesport. Friends and family are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Elsie are suggested to Central Christian Church or to Columbus Baptist Church and will be received at the funeral home.
