Fredrick "Rick" Winchester Obituary (1957

Fredrick "Rick" Alan Winchester, age 50 of Keyesport, IL, died on Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on February 23, 1957, a son of Frederick T. and Judith (Caswell) Winchester. Mr. Winchester is survived by his mother Judith Faye Winchester of Wanamingo, Minnesota; 2 daughters Angela Kristin Keen and fianc Keith Hodge of Kinmundy, Illinois and Andrea Monroe and husband Kyle of Salem, Illinois; 2 sons Thomas Ryan Winchester and Christopher Alan Winchester, both of Peoria, Illinois; 7 grandchildren Trevor and Trenton Keen, Grant and Dalton Hodge, Blair and Kylie Monroe and Jordan Rinehart; 3 brothers Donald Winchester, Randall Winchester and Christopher Winchester and 5 sisters Penny McIntosh, Vivian Winchester, Tracy Schaeffer, Tammy Norman and Gloria O'Brien. His siblings are spread throughout the country. He was preceded in death by his father Frederick T. Winchester. Rick grew up in Keyesport, and graduated from Carlyle High School in 1975 and later from Kaskaskia College. He was a successful manager of several car dealerships during his life. His ability to communicate and provide fair deals kept his customers coming back. He was an avid fisherman and spent considerable time at Carlyle Lake catching the "big ones." He also enjoyed entertaining his family and friends and providing that special grilled Bar-be-queue meal. He is remembered by his family as a loving and kind father. His family believes his spirit will live on through his children and grandchildren, and those who knew and loved him. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 8, 2007, at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle, with Molia Strickland officiating. Friends may call on Saturday, July 7, 2007, from 6:00 8:00 P.M. at Zieren Day Funeral Home and on Sunday from noon until service time. Memorial donations in memory of Mr. Winchester are suggested to his family and will be received at the funeral home.
