H. Ruby Hoffman Obituary (1923

H. Ruby Hoffman was born on June 17, 1923, in Carlyle, Illinois, a daughter of Chester and Mary (Hogshead) Morris. She married Kenneth H. Hoffman on June 29, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri and he preceded her in death on August 27, 2011. Mrs. Hoffman was a member of the Carlyle Christian Church. She worked in the Clinton County Treasurer's and Clerk's offices from 1953 - 1974. H. Ruby Hoffman entered into rest on Friday, October 28, 2011, at Carlyle Healthcare Center in Carlyle. She was 88 years of age. Survivors include a daughter - Nancy Boeker and husband Don of Carlyle; 3 grandchildren - Ken (Carolyn) Boeker, Gina (Corey) Selle and Kristen (Kenny) Firebaugh; 8 great grandchildren - Batiesha Boeker, Gregory and Anastasia Boeker, Jacob and Mallory Selle, and Baker, Faith and Carson Firebaugh and many nieces, nephews and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; 2 sisters - Ione Zerfass and Anna Bess Baldridge and husband Joe; an infant brother - Albert Landon Morris; a niece - Carla Beckemeyer and a nephew - Neil Baldridge. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at the Carlyle Christian Church with Rev. Dallas Nickel, officiating. Interment will follow at Carlyle Cemetery. Friends may call at Zieren Day Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., and on Tuesday at church from 9:00 A.M. until service time Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Hoffman are suggested to the Carlyle Christian Church and will be received at the funeral home.
