Helen Strotheide

Helen R. Strotheide was born in Clinton County, Illinois, on August 4, 1911, a daughter of Oscar and Elsie (Hull) Coigny. She married Frank H. Strotheide at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Stolletown on March 22, 1931, and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1983. Mrs. Strotheide was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Carlyle, the Clinton County Home Bureau and the Clinton County Farm Bureau. She was a homemaker, made hand-made quilts and baked and decorated cakes. Helen R. Strotheide entered into rest on Sunday, January 27, 2008, at Salem Memorial Hospital in Salem, Missouri. She was 96 years of age. Mrs. Strotheide is survived by a daughter Susie Fraser of Salem, Missouri; 2 sons H. Louis Strotheide and wife Carol and John P. Strotheide and special friend Shirley Steward, all of Salem, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; a son-in-law Harry "Bug" Fraser, Sr.; a step-grandson Travis McMahan and 2 brothers Paul and Louis Coigny. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 31, 2008, at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle, with Pastor Steve Sommerer, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Beaver Prairie. Friends may call at Zieren Day Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and Thursday from 8:00 AM until service time.
