Kathleen J. Mccoy Obituary (1951 - 2009)

Kathleen J. McCoy, age 57 of Carlyle, died Friday, June 19 at her residence. She was born in Breese, IL on August 14, 1951, a daughter of Herbert and Johanna (Grapperhaus) Laux. She married Mike Pollmann, and they were divorced. She married David "Amos" McCoy on Sept. 28, 1996 at St. Teresa's Church in Marydale, and he survives. Also surviving is her mother, Johanna Laux of Carlyle; a daughter, Hope Funderburk & husband Tim of Keller, Tx; a granddaughter, Sophia Funderburk; 4 brothers, Jim ( & wife Lenny) Laux of N. Little Rock, Arkansas, Roger (Marget) Laux of San Jose, Ca, Steve (Jana) Laux of Swansea, and Ken Laux & friend Trisha of Carlyle; her father-in-law, Larry McCoy of Elmwood, IL; 2 sisters-in-law, Diana Langbartel of South Chicago Heights IL and Erin Gick of Lebanon, Indiana; a brother-in-law, Patrick McCoy of Elmwood, IL; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Laux; a daughter, Anne Pollmann; sister-in-law, Michelle Laux; mother-in-law, Rosie McCoy, and a brother-in-law, Danny McCoy. Kathy was a teacher at Central High School in Breese since 1986. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Carlyle, and enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family, reading, and most of all being a grandmother to Sophia.
