Kathleen "Puddles" Meyer Obituary (1941 - 2007)

Kathleen A. "Puddles" Meyer, age 65 of Frogtown, died on Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Countryside Manor in Aviston. She was born on October 31, 1941, in Beaver Prairie, Illinois, a daughter of William and Catherine (Koopman) Dumstorff. She married James A. "Jim" Meyer on October 29, 1960, in Beaver Prairie and he survives in Frogtown. In addition to her husband Jim, Mrs. Meyer is also survived by a daughter Peggy Thole and husband Larry and 2 sons Mike Meyer and wife Diane and Jay Meyer and wife Tiffany, all of Frogtown; 4 grandchildren Carrie and Nikki Meyer, Christopher Thole and Riley Shaye Meyer; 3 sisters Mary Ellen Thoele and husband Glen of Stolletown, Carol Foppe of Breese and Linda Jung of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida; 7 brothers William Dumstorff, Jr. of Trenton, Edward Dumstorff and wife Mary of Breese, Jerry Dumstorff of St. Jacob, Jim Dumstorff and wife Pat of Breese, Lester Dumstorff and wife Cindy of Carlyle, Kenny Dumstorff of Aviston and Kevin Dumstorff and wife Elaine of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Catherine Dumstorff, a sister-in-law Mary Dumstorff and her mother and father-in-law Willard "Butch" and Leona Meyer. Puddles was a retail clerk and worked in many area businesses and lumber yards, most recently TBH Lumber in Carlyle. She enjoyed woodworking, tole painting, photography, bird watching, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a contributing designer for American Woodworks and Crafts Magazine, and her talents were featured in the magazine. She was a member of the Audubon Society. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 17, 2007, at St. Mary's Church in Carlyle with Fr. George Mauck officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in memory of Mrs. Meyer to be made to her grandchildren's education fund and will be received at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle, who is handling the funeral arrangements.
