Laurann Grady Obituary (1920

Laurann M. Grady, age 86 of Carlyle, entered into rest on Friday, November 23, 2007, at the Carlyle Healthcare Center in Carlyle, Illinois. Mrs. Grady was born on December 7, 1920, in Wheatfield Township, Illinois, a daughter of William and Ruby (Norman) Dierkes. She married Philip Grady on September 10, 1946, at St. Mary's Church in Carlyle and he preceded her in death on January 28, 1989. Mrs. Grady is survived by 3 daughters Phyllis Fenwick and husband Bob of Murphysboro, Illinois; Mary Kay Huth of Vienna, Virginia and Sansa Kahrhoff and husband Jack of Carlyle; 3 grandchildren Jennifer Zurliene, Heather Thole and Christopher Kahrhoff; a great grandson Connor John Zurliene; 2 sisters, Margie Kohrmann and husband Virgil of Carlyle and Donna Melius & husband Peter of St. Charles, Mo; and a brother, Norman Dierkes & wife Pauline of Carlyle. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kelly Dierkes. Mrs. Grady had worked at Moran Shoe Company in Carlyle, and later at the Carlyle Healthcare Center in the Dietary Dept. She had been an active member of St. Theresa Church in Marydale, and currently was a member of St. Mary's Church in Carlyle. She enjoyed gardening and quilting. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, Nov. 27 at St. Mary's Church in Carlyle with Fr. George Mauck presiding. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will greet friends at Zieren Day Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., and Tuesday from 8:00 AM until 10:30 A.M.
