Lawrence H. Knolhoff Obituary (1925

Lawrence H. Knolhoff, age 87 of rural Hoffman, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Centralia. Mr. Knolhoff was born on November 18, 1925, in Hoffman, a son of Martin and Lydia (Buchholtz) Knolhoff. He married Manita Reinkensmeyer on May 14, 1950, and she preceded him in death on September 28, 1980. He married Melba Sisk on April 13, 1985, and she preceded him in death on April 30, 2011. Survivors include a daughter - Donna Stephens of St. Louis; a son - Ken Knolhoff and wife Ellen of Hoffman; a step-son - Bill Martin of Woodlawn; 6 grandchildren - Stacey Knock and husband Adam, Tim Stephens, Lisa Knolhoff, Ann Knolhoff and husband Brian VanVertloo, Mary Knolhoff and fiance Joe Jackson and Kathleen Knolhoff; and a great grandson - Tyler Knock. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wives; a step-son - Jerry Martin; a step-daughter - Patricia Pennington; and a brother - Herbert Knolhoff and wife Edna. Mr. Knolhoff was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman, where he was also a member of the Men's Club. He was a farmer, and loved being outdoors, riding his 4-wheeler and enjoyed helping on the family farm even after his retirement. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 21, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman, Rev. Stephen Krenz, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 21, 2013, at the church. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Knolhoff are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor's choice and will be received at Zieren Day Funeral Home.
