Lucille F. Vandeloo Obituary (1931 - 2010)

Lucille F. Vandeloo was born on June 3, 1931, in Bartelso, Illinois, a daughter of Leo B. and Helena M. (Mensing) Winkeler. She married Donald Vandeloo in 1952 in Bartelso and he survives in Carlyle. Lu was an accomplished seamstress and an avid quilt maker. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Carlyle, St. Ann Altar Sodality and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and she enjoyed bowling and flower gardening. Lucille F. Vandeloo entered into rest on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville. She was 78 years of age. In addition to her husband Donald, Mrs. Vandeloo is also survived by her children - Donna Dworak and husband Ernest of Carlyle, Gary Vandeloo and wife Mary of Breese and Mary Falconio and husband James of Aviston; 7 grandchildren - Jessica Davis and husband Joseph, Amy Pizinski and husband Michael, Anthony Falconio and friend Heather Von Hatten, Joseph Falconio and friend Jenna Schroeder, Michael Falconio, Alison Vandeloo and Eric Vandeloo; 4 great grandchildren - Grey, Marie, Anna and Abigaile Davis; 4 sisters-in-law - Betty Winkeler, Rosemary Winkeler, Betty Niemeyer and Paulette Wellen and 2 brothers-in-law - Ted Sautman and wife Terry and Bill Vandeloo and wife Virginia. Mrs. Vandeloo was preceded in death by her parents - Leo B. and Helena M. Winkeler; her siblings - Gregor Winkeler and wife Helen, Norbert Winkeler, Ervin Winkeler and her twin sister, Rosalind Sautman and her in-laws - Msgr. Melvin Vandeloo, JoAnn Kauling and husband Sylvester "Beps", Marcellus "Teedle" Niemeyer and James Wellen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at St. Mary's Church in Carlyle with Fr. George Mauck, Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Carlyle. Visitation will be held at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle on Monday from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 8:00 A.M. - 10:30 A.M. Memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Vandeloo may be made to the charity of the donor's choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
