Mary I. Elliott

Mary I. Elliott, age 70 of Keyesport, died on Sunday, July 26, 2009, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Effingham. She was born in Salem, IL. on Dec. 25, 1938 a daughter of John And Bessie (Boyles) Peters. She married Jimmie Elliott on Dec. 16, 1969 at Beaver Prairie IL. and he survives in Keyesport. In addition to her husband she is survived by 2 daughters Tara Funneman and husband Todd of Teutopolis and Donna Wildhaber & husband Jimmie of Edwardsville.; 3 sons Rex Goodwin Jr. & wife Janice of Effingham, Mike Elliott & wife Rebecca of Highland and Wm. Lloyd (Bill) Elliott & wife Josie of Highland; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. 5 Nieces and 1 Nephew She was preceded in death by her parents and a son Paul Goodwin, 1 brother and 2 sisters Mrs. Elliott retired from World Color Press in Effingham and was a member of Graphic Artist Local B39. She also attended the Keyesport Methodist Church. She was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at Zieren-Day Funeral Home in Carlyle. Interment will follow at McKendree Chapel Cemetery near Keyesport. Friends and family are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle, and on Wednesday from 10:00 - until service time.. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Elliott may be made to the American Heart Association or to Hospice and will be received at Zieren Day Funeral Home.
