M. Wilson Fisher Obituary (1934 - 2014)

M. Wilson Fisher, age 80 of Carlyle, passed away at his home on Friday, August 22, 2014. Mr. Fisher was born on August 6, 1934, in Irishtown Township, a son of Jessie (Norman) and Matthew W. Fisher, Sr. He married Darlene Ann Dresch on April 15, 1961, in Alhambra, Illinois, and she preceded him in death on June 28, 2003. Wilson is survived by his children - Mitzi Alexander and husband Tom of Carlyle, Marla Corry and husband John of Boulder, Maureen Rounkles and husband Ryan of Imperial, Missouri and Matt Fisher and wife Sherry of St. Rose; his grandchildren - Jared Alexander and wife Krystal, Jenelle, Jolyn, and Jamie Alexander; Evan, Allyson, and Trevor Corry; Haley, Courtney and Riley Fisher and Kira and Maya Rounkles; 2 great grandchildren - Taytum and Emersyn Alexander; and a brother - John Fisher and wife Janice of Carlyle. He was preceded in death by his parents -Jessie and Matthew W. Fisher, Sr.; his wife - Darlene A. Fisher; a sister - Norma McClaren and husband Edward; a brother - Lloyd Fisher and his wives Linda and Helen; and his father and mother-in-law - Richard and Mildred Dresch. Mr. Fisher was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Carlyle. He worked for Bond County F.S. for 24 years, managing the grain elevators in Keyesport and Mulberry Grove. He also raised sheep at his farm. Mr. Fisher served on the Clinton County Fair Board, the Carlyle North Water board and was member of the Carlyle F.F.A. Alumni and the Beckemeyer American Legion, Post 1227. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle with Rev. Earl Menchhofer, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at McKendree Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Zieren Day Funeral Home on Friday, August 29, 2014, from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday morning from 8:00 - 10:00 A.M.
