Mervin G. Wilkerson, Jr. Obituary (1935

Mervin G. "Bud" Wilkerson, age 75 of Keyesport, entered into rest on Saturday, July 30, 2011, at his residence in Keyesport. Bud was born on August 26, 1935, a son of Mervin G. and Dorothy Wilkerson, Sr. He married Phyllis J. Wilkerson on September 1, 1962, in Cahokia, Illinois and she preceded him in death on December 1, 2001. Mr. Wilkerson is survived by a son - David W. Wilkerson of Keyesport; 3 grandchildren - Dustin Wilkerson, Derek Wilkerson and David Wilkerson, Jr. and a brother - Jim Wilkerson and wife Diane of Belleville. In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Wilkerson was preceded in death by a brother - Bob Wilkerson. Bud worked as a switchman on the railroad. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and had served in Korea. He was a member of the Carlyle VFW and the Keyesport American Legion. A graveside funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Monday, August 8, 2011, at McKendree Chapel Cemetery. Friends and family are asked to gather at the cemetery. Memorial donations in Bud's memory are suggested to the ALS Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
