Nathan A. Miller Obituary (1994 - 2012)

Nathan A. Miller was born on September 28, 1994 in Maryville, Illinois, a son of Dale and Colleen (Smith) Miller. Nathan was a junior at Carlyle High School and was on the basketball and golf teams. He worked at Governors Run golf Course in Carlyle. Golf was his passion, and loved the outdoors - hunting, fishing, and 4-wheeling. Nathan A. Miller died on Friday, March 16, 2012 at his residence. He was 17 years of age. He is survived by his father, Dale and wife Karen (Carrillon) Miller of Carlyle; his mother, Colleen Fernandez and husband Doug of Livermore, California; brothers, Zach Miller of Carlyle and Joe Fernandez of Livermore; sisters, Meagan Miller, Dulce Fernandez, and Bianca Fernandez, all of Livermore and Janet Loepker and fiance Jeff Kohlbrecher of Breese; his grandparents, Kenneth and Shirley Miller of Highland, Leonard and Carol Carrillon of Carlyle, and Carol Smith of Maryville, Illinois and a niece, Gracie. He was preceded in death his grandfather, Matthew Smith. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at St. Mary's Church in Carlyle with Fr. George Mauck officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Zieren Day Funeral Home on Monday from 3:00 - 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 8:00 - 10:30 A.M. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Nathan are suggested to Carlyle High School Athletic Department or to the charity of the donor's choice and will be received at the funeral home.
