Norma K. Walker Obituary (2013)

Norma K. Walker, age 90 of Carlyle, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2013, at Carlyle Healthcare Center in Carlyle, Illinois. Mrs. Walker was born in Macoupin County, Illinois, on August 14, 1923, a daughter of James R. and Ida (Wood) Golike. She married William M. Walker and he preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter - Kitty Stone of Carlyle; a son - Jessie Cunio and wife Ellen of Grantsboro, North Carolina; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 3 sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a son - Dennis Strahan; a daughter - Peggy Stone; 2 brothers, 2 sisters, a niece and a nephew. Mrs. Walker was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carlyle. She retired from Community Link, where she worked as a group home supervisor for many years. She was known in the area for her yard sales, and also loved planting flowers. There will be no services held for Mrs. Walker. Memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Walker may be made to the Clinton County Humane Society and will be received at the funeral home.
