Ralph P. Schroer Obituary (1941 - 2008)

Ralph P. Schroer, age 67 of Carlyle, died on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis. Mr. Schroer was born on January 19, 1941, a son of Joseph and Leona (Hoh) Schroer. His parents preceded him in death. Mr. Schroer is survived by 2 daughters - Rita M. Stahl and husband Dennis of Trenton, Texas and Ruth A. Lewis and husband James of Ravenna, Texas; 2 sons - Jerry Lee Stanley and wife Marta of Jacksonville, Florida and Kenneth P. Schroer and wife Kim of Middleburg, Florida; 6 grandchildren and 2 sisters - Margaret Loepker of Belleville, Illinois and Irene Schutz and husband Kenneth of Breese, Illinois. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister - Olivia Jackson and 2 brothers - Raymond and Richard Schroer. Mr. Schroer was of the Catholic faith and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 20, 2008, at St. Mary's Church in Carlyle with Fr. George Mauck, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Carlyle. Friends and relatives are invited to attend visiting hours at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle on Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 8:00 A.M. -9:30 A.M. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Schroer may be made to the family and will be received at the funeral home.
