Robert M. Anderson

Robert M. Anderson, age 80 of Carlyle, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015, at the V.A. Medical Center in Marion, Illinois.

Mr. Anderson was born on December 22, 1934, in Collinsville, Illinois, a son of Robert and Emma (Barberies) Anderson. He married Karen (Miles) Range on May 27, 1960, and they were divorced. He married Barbara C. Hayden on May 30, 1976 and she preceded him in death on March 13, 2008.

Bob is survived by his children - Michael Anderson and wife Cindy of Belleville, Laurie Anderson of Swansea, and Edward Lange and wife Betty of Carlyle; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister - Catherine Carruba and husband Anthony of Collinsville; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Anderson is preceded in death by his parents and his wife; two sons - Kevin Anderson and Mark Anderson; a granddaughter - Jennifer Anderson; and his twin brother - John Anderson.

Bob was an avid trapper, dove hunter, and outdoorsman. He loved to fish, and could often be found fishing the banks of the spillway or lake. Very special thanks from Mike to the caregivers at the Marion VA CLC.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Carlyle Township Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Carlyle V.F.W. Hall.
