Ross Licare, Jr.

Ross Licare, Jr. age 86 of Boulder, entered into rest on Monday, October 31, 2011, at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia. Mr. Licare was born on May 6, 1925, in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of Ross and Mary Licare, Sr. He married Lorraine Knepper on August 12, 1947, in St. Louis and she survives in Boulder. In addition to his wife Lorraine, Mr. Licare is also survived by a daughter - Janet Mayer and husband Bill of Missouri; 3 sons - Ross Licare, III and wife Emmy of Florida, Michael Licare and wife Kim of Louisiana and John Licare of North Carolina; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; 2 sisters - Nina Ballentine and Joy Bader and husband Mick, all of Missouri and 3 brothers - Vincent Licare and wife Liz, John Licare and wife Dorothy and Richard Licare and wife Darlene, all of Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister - Marie Buselicki and husband Mike and 2 brothers - Michael Licare and Sam Licare and wife Joyce. Mr. Licare was a meat cutter at National Food Stores in St. Louis, and moved from St. Louis to Boulder 17 years ago. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and Marines, serving in World War II. Ross enjoyed camping and fishing, biking and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Funeral services with military honors will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 4, 2011, at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle. Visitation will be from Noon until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
