Scholastica Brendel Obituary (1921 - 2007)

Scholastica C. "Celeste" Brendel, age 85 of Carlyle, died on Monday, March 26, 2007, at SSM St. Joseph's Health Center in St. Charles, Missouri. Mrs. Brendel was born on December 11, 1921, in Breese, Illinois, a daughter of William and Anna (Boeving) Eversgerd. She married Titus Brendel on September 21, 1940, in St. Louis and he preceded her in death in February of 1994. Surviving are her children JoAnn Ehlman of St. Charles, Missouri; James T. Brendel of Carlyle and William Brendel and wife Jeannie of Albers; 9 grandchildren Jimmy, Lisa and David Rowland, Dan Rauschcaub, and Ann, Frank, Lee, Ryan and Brandy Brendel; 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa; a brother Chris Eversgerd and 2 sons in law Wayne Ehlman and Walter Neecarr. Mrs. Brendel was a machine operator and worked at Wagner Electric in St. Louis. She enjoyed fishing. A private burial will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Brendel may be made to VNA/TIP Hospice or to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received at the funeral home.
