Sherri Wysocki Obituary (1934 - 2024)

Sherry Wysocki, age 90 of Carlyle, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024. She was born on January 28, 1934, in Carlyle, a daughter of the late Alois and Rose (Meyer) Meier. Sherry married her groom, William "Bill" Wysocki on November 24, 1955. They celebrated 65 years of marriage before Bill passed in 2021. Sherry, along with her late sister Shirley, was proud to be a twin. Together they were avid St. Louis Cardinals fans. Over the years, Sherry introduced every new Wysocki entering the family to the Cardinals, and in 90 dedicated years she rarely missed a game whether attending in person, listening to the radio, or watching on television. She loved playing Poker, Bingo with her family, quilting, a good glass of wine, and spending time with her dog Charlie. Sherry is survived by her and Bill's children, Michael (Terri), Thomas (Martha), Lisa, David, Julia (Victor), Stephen, and Robert; her grandchildren, Vince (Catherine), Chris (Allison), Nick (Amy), Joshua (Jennifer), Teresa (Jaried), Jenni Wysocki-Gaither, Joey (Kara) and Thomas (Danielle); her great-grandchildren, Brittany, Tony, Jackson, Luke, Ava, Nolan, Lucy, Jalen, Makenna, Gregory, Devin, Maleah, Bella, Maverick, Caroline, and Noelle; her great-great grandson Isaiah; her siblings Gene (Lana) and Karen (Marty) and sisters-in-law Carol and Joann. She is greeted in heaven by her beloved husband Billy Boy (William), son Kevin, and sisters Norma and Shirley. Visitation will be held Friday, August 2, 2024, from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Zieren Funeral Home, 1111 Clinton Street, Carlyle, IL 62231. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 3 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, 1171 Jefferson St. Carlyle, IL 62231. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, memorial donations in Sherry's name are suggested to to St. Mary's Catholic Church (www.stmarycarlyle.org).
