Theodore B. Luebbers Obituary (1928

Theodore B. Luebbers was born on April 15, 1928, in Irishtown Township, Illinois a son of Menard Sr. and Ida (Harpstrite) Luebbers. He married Helen Krebs on November 26, 1949 at St. Mary's Church in Carlyle and she survives in Carlyle. Mr. Luebbers was a member of St. Mary's Church in Carlyle and was a farmer. He enjoyed wood working and gardening, was a member of the Clinton County Farm Bureau and a former fireman for Wheatfield Township Fire Protection District. Theodore B. Luebbers entered into rest on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville. He was 82 years of age. In addition to his wife Helen, Mr. Luebbers is also survived by 3 daughters - Mary Skelley and husband Rick of Bloomington, Joann Dieckmann of Carlyle and Betty Bach and husband Duane of Carlyle; 2 sons - Mike Luebbers and wife Marsha of Breese and Joe Luebbers and wife Donna of Carlyle; a daughter in law - Jan Luebbers of Carlyle; 19 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren; 3 sisters - Virginia Bryk and husband Emil of Carlyle, Marie Mitchell of Sparta and Ida Mae Guthrie and husband Dave of Centralia; 3 brothers --Alfred Luebbers of Peoria, Irvin "Lou" Luebbers and wife Trudy of Breese and Paul Luebbers and wife Lillian of Carlyle and his in--laws - Marian Luebbers, Jane Luebbers, Mae Luebbers, Clarence Krebs, Florence and Ralph Wolters, Dennis and Lorraine Huelskamp, and Dollie Lampe. He was preceded in death by his parents - Menard Sr. and Ida Luebbers; a son - David Luebbers on July 29, 2001; a granddaughter - Jennifer; 3 sisters - Loretta Diffenauer and husband Joe, Eugenia "Ganie" Meyer and husband Vince and Dorothy Diffenauer and husband Harold; 6 brothers - Anthony Luebbers and his wives Geraldine and Esther, Earl Luebbers, Arthur Luebbers, Vincent Luebbers, Menard, Jr. and Marie Luebbers and Adrian Luebbers; and his in-laws - Ada Luebbers, Pat Luebbers, Sally Krebs, Rita and Clem Jansen and Benedict Lampe. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 22, 2010, at St. Mary's Church in Carlyle with Fr. George Mauck, officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Zieren Day Funeral Home on Friday, May 21, 2010, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday morning from 8:00 - 9:30 A.M. Memorials in Mr. Luebbers memory are suggested to the American Lung Association, American Cancer Society, or the donor's favorite charity and will be received at the funeral home.
