Vilma Lee Sauerwein Obituary (2011)

VILMA L. SAUERWEIN, age 77 of Belleville, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville. She was born in Belleville on Dec. 30, 1933 a daughter of John A. and Audra (McCabe) Sauerwein. She married John A. Sauerwein in July 1951 in Belleville, and he preceded in death. Mrs. Sauerwein is survived by a daughter, Audrey Groom of Belleville; 2 sons, John Sauerwein of O'fallon, IL and James Sauerwein of Belleville; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister and 4 brothers. Mrs. Sauerwein worked in the housekeeping dept. at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. She and her husband retired to Carlyle Lake where she enjoyed fishing and boating. She moved back to Belleville in 2007. There will be no public services for Mrs. Sauerwein. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the donor's favorite charity and will be accepted at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle, who is handling the services.
