Wenifred M. Bailey Obituary (1923

Wenifred M. Bailey, age 89 of Keyesport, died on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Highland Healthcare Center in Highland, Illinois. Mrs. Bailey was born on May 30, 1923, in Corning, Arkansas, a daughter of Andrew and Iva Duff. She married Robert E. Bailey on August 30, 1940, in Senath, Missouri, and he preceded her in death on June 2, 1993. She is survived by 3 daughters - Glenda Herrod and husband Fred of Keyesport, Sharon Goodin and husband Burl of Keyesport and Karen Wilkerson and husband Mike of Pittsburgh; 3 sons - Paul Bailey and wife Toni of Keyesport, Bruce Bailey of Vandalia and Ray Bailey and wife Melissa of Troy and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 sisters - Mary Weldon of Granite City and Diana Jones of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and a brother - Elijah J. Duff and wife Barb of Granite City. She was preceded in death by her parents - Andrew and Iva Duff; her husband - Robert E. Bailey; 2 sons - Lynn and Michael Bailey; a daughter - Judy Bailey; 2 sisters and one brother. Mrs. Bailey owned and operated restaurants in Carlyle, Breese and Mulberry Grove. She also worked as a cook at many restaurants around Carlyle and Keyesport. She enjoyed watching dirt track races, Cardinals baseball, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle with Rev. Tom Hoffman, officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery near Keyesport. Visitation will be held at Zieren Day Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday from 8:00 A.M. until service time. Memorial donations in Mrs. Bailey's memory are suggested to Highland Healthcare Center and will be received at the funeral home.
