William M. Voegele, Jr. Obituary (2013)

William M. Voegele, Jr. age 69 of Pinellas Park, Florida and formerly of Keyesport, entered into rest on Sunday, February 3, 2013, at Bay Pines V.A. Hospital in Bay Pines, Florida. Mr. Voegele was born on October 11, 1943, in Highland, Illinois, a son of William M. and Florence (Biggerstaff) Voegele, Sr. He married Sandra K. Nordike on February 19, 2005, and she survives in Pinellas Park. In addition to his wife Sandra, Mr. Voegele is also survived by 2 sons - Scott A. Voegele and wife Heidi and Desmond Nordike; 4 daughters - Tamie L. Horstmann and husband Curt, Tina Carson and husband Tom, Susan DeVito and husband Michael and Valerie Pierroutsakos and husband Alex; a brother - Robert Voegele and wife Cathy; 4 sisters - Kathleen Steward, Vera Daiber, Rozann Sebor and husband Ronald and Ann Voegele; 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; and a brother in law - Irvin Shiek. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings - John Voegele, Sandra Shiek, Ray Voegele and Frances Voegele and his in-laws - Charlie Steward and Victor Daiber. Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in the Korean War. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pinellas Park and worked as a commercial fisherman. Prior to moving to Florida, he was a member of Carlyle Lake Waterfowlers, Ducks Unlimited and was past commander of the Carlyle American Legion Post. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 7, 2013. Interment with military honors will follow at McKendree Chapel Cemetery in Keyesport. Mr. Voegele's family will greet friends and family at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle on Wednesday evening from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday morning from 8:00 - 9:30 A.M. Memorial donations in Mr. Voegele's memory are suggested to Suncrest Hospice in Clearwater, Florida and will be received at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle.
