Wilma Loepker

Wilma W. Loepker was born on July 5, 1924, in Hoffman, Illinois, a daughter of David and Bertha (Leuking) White. She married Alois "Echo" Loepker on February 27, 1946, in Carlyle, Illinois and he preceded her in death on May 5, 1990. Mrs. Loepker worked at Wee Walker Shoe Factory in Carlyle and at Miss Elaine's Dress Factory in Centralia. She was a member of St. Cecilia Church in Bartelso, where she was active in the Ladies Sodality and Young At Heart. Mrs. Loepker was also a member of the Bartelso American Legion Auxiliary, Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary, TOPS and several pinochle card clubs. Wilma W. Loepker entered into rest on Thursday, December 6, 2007, at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. She was 83 years of age. Mrs. Loepker is survived by a son David "Butch" Loepker and wife Darlene of Bartelso, Illinois; 2 grandchildren David Loepker and wife Crystal and Ann Loepker and friend Scott Deiters; 2 great grandsons Jacob and Jared; a sister Bernice Thompson of Carlyle, Illinois; 2 brothers David White and wife Lou of Hopedale, Illinois and Monroe White and wife Jo of Troy, Illinois; a sister-in-law Mildred White of Searcy, Arkansas and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; a sister Eldine White and two brothers Lawrence and Andrew White. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, December 10, 2007, at St. Cecilia Church in Bartelso with Fr. Henry J. Fischer, celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Cecilia Cemetery. Friends may call at Zieren Day Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and Monday from 8:00A.M. until 1:30 P.M.
